Report on Orientation Program of MBA Batch IV (2012-14)

The Orientation Program for MBA-Batch 2012 - 14 students was held on 6th August 2012, at CKSVIM Conference Hall. The Program began with lamp lighting by Dr. Rajesh Khajuria - Director, CKSVIM, Shri Nileshbhai Shah - Local Management Committee Member, Shri Shaileshbhai Shah – Hon. Secretary, SMJV Vadodara Branch along with students, faculty and staff members, which was followed by a prayer.

The welcome speech was given by Dr. Rajesh Khajuria. He gave an overview of the goals set for the next two years (2012 – 14). He mentioned three goals for the Students, Society and Internal respectively. a) Entrepreneurship Development. b) Sustainability, Livelihood and CSR. c) Quality standards for CKSVIM through ISO, AASBI, ACBSP. He also stressed the need to follow traffic rules. He also told students about his next venture School Education for Transformation of Universe (SETU), which he will unveil the detailed implementation plan shortly. This venture will be the CSR Project and every students, faculty and staff will be connected with the society to serve the needy, marginal and poor school children.

Dr. Shaileshbhai Shah in his speech asked the students to be disciplined in life and conveyed “All the Best” for their future endeavours.

Shri Nileshbhai Shah in his speech gave an overview about Shri Mahavira Jaina Vidyalaya and motivated students to Learn as there is no specific age for learning (“Learn, How to Learn”).

The faculty and Staff members introduced themselves to the students.

Ms. Hetal Thakkar, Asst. Professor, briefed about MBA as a Career Option. She gave an overview about the specialisations and electives offered. And further told students that they all are fortunate to study under global M.B.A program at CKSVIM which focuses on practical training and industrial connectivity. She thanked Dr. Khajuria for initiating entrepreneur week to increase entrepreneurship activities.

Ms. Stuti Trivedi, Asst. Professor, introduced students to the curriculum of GTU Global MBA Program and Mr. Manish Joshi introduced students to the Finishing School Program.

Mr. Prakash Patel, Asst. Professor, briefed students about the General Rules, Computer Lab Rules, Library Rules, Class Room Rules, Attendance Rules and Canteen Rules. Mr. Keval Patel, Librarian, gave an overview about the Knowledge Centre (Library) of CKSVIM.

Mr. Ankit Shah, Training & Placement Officer, gave an overview about the assistance provided for the Summer Internship Program as well as final placements.

The programme was ended by Vote of thanks by Ms. Ishita Ashara, Asst. Professor. She thanked Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Director CKSVIM to brief the new students about the institute and the institute's agenda for the next two years. She also thanked Dr. Saileshbhai Shah and Mr. Nileshbhai shah for sharing their valuable time and giving their blessings and best wishes to the new batch students. She also thanked all the teaching and non-teaching staff of CKSVIM and the students of Semester I and IV for attending the orientation programme.

The ceremony was coordinated by Ms. Nusrat Campwala, Executive Secretary.
