3. Some of the experiences of SMJV’s CKSVIM MBA Sem III students:

  • Dalhousie (6,750 feet altitude) contains some of the most beautiful places in Dev Bhumi Himachal Pradesh (HP) State of India. I had visited Manali, Simla etc in HP since 1978, but walking , rappling, river-crossing and travelling through Dalhousie, Kalatop, Jot (9,000 feet altitude) with the 1st batch of 50 MBA final year students including 3 faculty members was an unprecedented experience of sheer adventure, excitement and joy. We saw the unseen Peaks, far off snow-capped peaks of Himalaya, Valleys, Bear Sanctuary, and Jungle. Seen rich people living in rich homes and doing agriculture on cut and carved patches of large Mountains throughout the periphery of Dalhousie. Local people grow maize, wheat, rajma  and dal (pulses) for home and market consumption. The local economy is booming on agriculture and inbound tourism and no industry around. Mrs Renu Chdhha, local MLA was kind to be the Chief Guest on last day and distribute certificates and mementos to students and faculty.
    • Personally I also visited Chamba  on Day 1 by car with wife Bela and student Dipen Shah who was sick and could not go for trekking, did darshan at 1,000 year old civilization’s Lakshmi Narayan Temple built in 10th Century by the King of Chamba).
