Dr Ranjita Banerjee, Associate Professor, SMJV’s CKSV Institute of Management, Vadodara, is selected for the prestigious ‘Teaching Excellence Award 2020’ from Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), USA of REGION 10 – SOUTH ASIA which comprises of 17 countries. ACBSP has a global network divided geographically into 11 Regions, comprising of 1200 Member campuses in 60 countries. Only one recipient is selected from each Region of the total 11 Regions of ACBSP globally. The countries in ‘Region 10: South-Asia’ includes 17 countries viz. India, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Afghanistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar (Burma). The Award shall be given in ACBSP Annual Conference, Chicago, USA, which will be held virtually this year in view of COVID-19 pandemic in ACBSP Virtual Conference 2020.
In a rare occasion, Dr. Ranjita Banerjee is the second recipient of this Award from CKSVIM, as Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, former Director of CKSVIM, was the first recipient of ‘Teaching Excellence Award 2015’ at Chicago in person, when CKSVIM also received its Global Accreditation from ACBSP, USA after four years of hardwork. Two International Teaching Excellence Awards from ACBSP, USA to the Director/Faculty of one institute has probably never happened before in Asia in the 33 years history of ACBSP. Incidentally, Dr. Ranjita completed her PhD (Management) from GTU under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Khajuria.
Dr. Christopher Speicher, Director, School of Business & Global Innovation, Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania Statem, USA is another recipient of Teaching Excellence Award 2020 of Region 2 Eastern Council, comprising of the States of US. In 2019, an MoU was signed between CKSVIM and Marywood University at their Campus in The USA for Academic Cooperation, enabling CKSVIM MBA students to save one year out of the 2-year MBA program of Marywood University, with potential saving of about US$ 30,000/-.
The ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award was based across 5 criteria viz, ‘Teaching & Learning, Professional Development, Institutional Versatility, Curriculum Development and Community Commitment’. It’s a proud moment for the people of Vadodara to be reflected among the best of the Campuses and Programs worldwide through this recognition.
